The Delhi Government Ration Provision – FAQ


In view the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of Novel Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19), the Delhi Government is implementing food relief efforts in Delhi so that no one is left hungry. For this, we are ensuring that ration is available to all residing in Delhi including the migratory and floating population.

For those with a Ration Card

  1. I have a ration card – where can I get ration?
    If you are a ration card holder, you can get ration free of cost from Fair Price Shops. These shops will be open all seven days of the week in public interest, The ration will include wheat and rice.
  2. Do I have to pay for the ration?
    No, you do not have to pay for the ration. It will be given free of cost.
  3. How much quantity will I get?
    The entitled quantity of ration (wheat and rice) for the month of April 2020 is increased by 50%. The beneficiary members will now get 7.5 Kg of food grains including 6 Kg of wheat and 1.5 Kg of rice for each beneficiary.

For Those Without Ration Card

  1. I do not have a ration card – what can I do?
    If you do not have a ration card, you can apply for the Delhi Government’s Ration e-Coupon. Upon completing the application, you will get the coupon on your phone. Take the coupon to the closet government school (from a list on the e-Coupon portal).
    You will get one month’s ration from that school. Date of distribution will be announced shortly, so please fill form at the earliest,
  2. Where can I apply for the Delhi Government Ration e-Coupon?
    You can apply on on the e-Coupon portal – https://ration.jantasamvad.org/ration/ – do ensure that you put in your correct mobile number in the application. You will receive the e-coupon as a text on your phone.
  3. What information will I need to submit the form for e-Coupon?
    You will need to fill in yours and your family members’ names, age, gender and Aadhar number, and the Delhi address you’re currently staying in. Even if your Aadhar has a non-Delhi address, you can apply. Put address of where you are currently in Delhi. Uploading a photo on the portal is not mandatory.
  4. How much ration quantity will I get?
    You can get 4 Kgs wheat plus 1 Kg rice per person.
  5. Who can I contact if I have queries about the form/ need assistance filling the form?
    Your MLAs, their representatives and volunteers working with the Delhi Government will ensure that you get the required assistance to fill the form. In case of any query, you can contact our helpline 1032.
  6. I don’t have an Aadhar card – what can I do?
    The Delhi Government has allocated 20% ration in the schools for those who don’t have an Aadhar card number. Please go to the nearest school from the list that will be released on the e- Coupon portal, and get ration. However, do note that this will only be provided to verified cases, at the discretion of the school in-charge.
  7. How many times can I use the e-Coupon to get ration?
    You can only use the e-Coupon once. You will get a month’s worth of ration in that single use.
  8. I had applied for a Ration Card but my application is still pending. Am I still eligible for the e-Coupon? Where can I get ration from?
    Yes, you are eligible for the e-Coupon. Fill the e-coupon form on https://ration.jantasamvad.org/ration/, and go to the closest listed government school with the e-Coupon.
  9. I have submitted the e-Coupon form. How do I check the the status of my application?
    Go on the e-Coupon website (https://ration.jantasamvad.org/ration/) and use the ‘Click Here’ option. You will be asked to enter your mobile number. Use the same number that you used for filling the form. You will receive an OTP. On entering the OTP, you will be redirected to your application status.
