Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain along with Timarpur MLA Dilip Kumar Pandey conducts surprise inspection at various Fair Price Shops and Designated Distribution Centre

New Delhi: Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister of Delhi, Imran Hussain along with MLA of Timarpur Assembly Constituency Dilip Kumar Pandey conducted a surprise inspection of 4 Fair Price Shops and 1 Designated Distribution Centre (School) in Timarpur area to check distribution of Specified Food Articles (SFAs) and kits containing essential items to the beneficiaries during emergent situation arising out of COVID-19 pandemic. One Inspection team consisting of Assistant Commissioner, Food Supplies Officer and Food Supplies Inspectors also accompanied F&S Minister during the inspection. 
During the inspection, F&S Minister and the MLA found smooth and orderly distribution of SFAs and kits to ration card beneficiaries. They found similar situation in distribution of food grains to the non PDS beneficiaries at the Designated Distribution Centre at Schools too. Civil Defense Volunteers stationed by Delhi Government at the FPSs and School were found efficiently coordinating and managing beneficiaries. Beneficiaries were seen wearing face masks and complying with social distancing norms while obtaining rations.
F&S Minister and the MLA also interacted with beneficiaries who were found satisfied with the operation and management of food grain distribution undertaken by Delhi Government for both PDS and non-PDS beneficiaries during the lockdown due to COVID-19.
F&S Minister assured that ration is available in sufficient quantity and beneficiaries should not panic in obtaining their ration. They should follow social distancing and other prescribed norms and they may visit the FPSs/Designated Distribution Centres again for obtaining ration in case of huge rush or in case some of the items are not available at the time of their visit. The shops will remain open on all days without weekly off from 9 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm.
