Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain pays surprise visit to LNJP Hospital amid Covid-19 surge

NEW DELHI: Delhi Health Minister, Shri Satyendar Jain visited the LNJP Hospital in Delhi on Wednesday to meet with the patients, their family members, take feedback, review the facilities available and encourage the staff and doctors. He directed the management to ensure that the admission process was fastened further. There should also be zero rejection of patients, stated Shri Jain. He said that the hospital authorities must ensure that sufficient ICU beds are available. He stated that Shri. Arvind Kejriwal is directly monitoring the situation of beds and facilities available for patients in all Govt hospitals. The Kejriwal-led Delhi Government has ramped up the infrastructure available and is fully equipped to combat the virus.
The Minister also met with the family members of the patients admitted and buoyed up their spirits. The Minister said that LNJP Hospital has treated the maximum number of patients in India and was confident that they will continue to contribute. He said that the doctors and staff were determined and working hard day and night. The Minister reassured that the Delhi Government has ramped up the infrastructure to combat the surge. He said that CM Arvind Kejriwal is directly monitoring the situation of beds and facilities available for patients in Delhi government hospitals.
During the visit, the Minister said, “Delhi is seeing an unprecedented surge. In view of the same, I visited the patients at LNJP Hospital. LNJP has treated the maximum number of patients in India. The doctors and staff have been working really hard and I am very grateful for their dedication. I also met with the patients and their family members, to ask about their well-being and take their feedback.”
“The management has been directed to ensure a quick admission process for severely sick patients. The hospital must make sure that there is zero rejection of patients. It must be watched over that sufficient ICU beds should be available for covid patients. Hygiene is supreme, and must be maintained at all times. The past three days have seen a rise in the number of patients. The staff must ensure proper care is taken. I also met with the family members of the patients admitted,” said Shri. Jain.
Adding further, he said, “CM Shri. Arvind Kejriwal is directly monitoring the situation of beds and facilities available for patients in all Govt hospitals. Delhi Government has ramped up the infrastructure available and is fully equipped to combat the virus. I appeal to you all to only opt for hospital admissions when in dire need.”
