The Delhi government has decided to partner with private cab facilities like Ola and Uber to provide medical emergency services for non-COVID patients in the national capital. Delhi Health Minister Mr Satyendar Jain on Saturday said that the Ola and Uber will help the Delhi government pro-bono in the commute of emergency non-COVID patients to the city hospitals. He explained that this service can be availed by dialling CATS ambulance helpline at 102 or 112.

“During this time of crisis, I thank @Olacabs and @UberIndia who have come forward to provide probono service to help in the commute of emergency non-covid patients to hospitals. This service can be availed by dialing CATS ambulance helpline at 102/112,” tweeted Mr Jain.

Delhi Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal also welcomed the move by the Ola and Uber. Welcoming and thanking these private cab facilities Mr Kejriwal said that it is heartening to see how many organisations are coming forward to help the citizens.

Addressing the Uber cabs Mr Kejriwal tweeted, “Thank you for your support for Delhi’s healthcare workers. It is heartening to see so many organisations pitching in to help fight Corona.”

Welcoming the Ola Cabs Mr Kejriwal tweeted, “Thank you for your contribution @Olacabs. Transporting people to and from hospital during the lockdown is a very imp service.”

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delhi government is working round the clock to provide the best and timely services to the COVID-19 patients, therefore, the ambulances of the state are mostly working with the COVID-19 patients. On the other hand due to the nationwide lockdown to tackle the pandemic the people are facing problems to bring out their own vehicles and there are no other transport facilities available. Taking cognizance of this extraordinary situation the Delhi government has decided to partner with the Ola and Uber cabs who will help the non-COVID patients to commute.
