CM Arvind Kejriwal visits LNJP Hospital to inspect the preparations made for the COVID vaccination drive in Delhi, as the first phase of the drive begins across the country

New Delhi: CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday visited the LNJP Hospital of the Delhi government to inspect the preparations made for the COVID vaccination drive in Delhi. Congratulating the people of Delhi, he said that the vaccination process is running smoothly, and the people who have been vaccinated are not experiencing any difficulties or side-effects. The Delhi government has done all the preparations and around 8100 people will be vaccinated today at 81 locations across the capital, he added. He requested the people to not pay heed to any kind of misinformation or rumours because the vaccine is entirely safe according to the experts, and to continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing even after receiving the vaccine. Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain was also present with the CM on the inspection visit.

The vaccination drive has started across the country from today onwards, along with Delhi where it has been started in 81 sites. We are in LNJP Hospital, and I have done the inspection of the services provided during the vaccination process. Around 8 people have been vaccinated and 30 people were waiting in the line. The process is running smoothly. The people who have been vaccinated are very happy, and they are not experiencing any difficulties or side-effects. The Delhi government has done all the preparations, and around 8100 people will be vaccinated today at 81 locations across the national capital. I want to request the people to not pay heed to any kind of misinformation or rumors because the vaccine is entirely safe according to the experts. Please continue wearing masks and maintaining social distancing even after being vaccinated.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Every person who has been vaccinated is happy, nobody is experiencing any problems. We have started this at 81 sites, and we will increase this number to 175 sites in the coming days. As and when the vaccine increases, we will start the vaccination process at 1000 sites. Only health workers will be vaccinated in the first phase, including doctors, paramedic staff, and other medical workers. These are our Corona warriors and it is very important for them to be Corona-free to work for the service of others. First to receive the vaccination will be health workers, then frontline workers such as CDVs and police officials, then people above 50 years, and then people below 50 years but with co-morbidities.”

“There is no need to launch a separate app, the central government has devised the same system for the entire country,” he added.

Shri Satyendar Jain, “The vaccination drive has been started across the country and in Delhi from today. The process is being carried out across 81 sites in Delhi. First to receive the vaccination will be health workers, then frontline workers such as Civil Defence Volunteers and police officials, then people above 50 years, and then people below 50 years but with co-morbidities. We have a target of vaccinating 8100 people by the end of the day. I have met all the people who have received the vaccine, nobody is experiencing any difficulties.”

Atmaja Priyadarshini Nayak, Nursing Officer at LNJP Hospital was given COVID vaccination in the presence of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.

Dr. Suresh Kumar, Director of LNJP Hospital said, “World’s largest vaccination drive has started in Delhi from LNJP Hospital. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain inspected the preparations and they spoke to 8 people who have received the vaccine. Our doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff are very happy because the people will finally be relieved from Corona. LNJP has treated approximately 11000 COVID infected people, during which a lot of our health workers were also infected. I want to request people to participate in the vaccination drive.
