New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the 450-bedded Burari Hospital in Delhi via video conferencing on Saturday. The newly-set up Burari hospital will have a total of 700 beds, out of which 450-beds have been installed. Around 125 beds will have oxygen supply available with them, and the capacity will be enhanced in the coming days. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the new Burari hospital will serve the people of the area and will prove to be a huge support in the health infrastructure in Delhi.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “I am very happy to be inaugurating Burari Hospital today. I could not be there due to COVID and various other arrangements. I visited the hospital a few days back to inspect all arrangements that were being made in the hospital. The opening of this hospital will add 450 more beds in the health infrastructure in Delhi. The two crore people of Delhi along with the central and the state government have attained victory over Corona, but it would not be correct to say that the fight is over.”
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that in the last one month, the number of cases, positivity ratio, and death ratio have gone down, and the recovery rate has increased. “This is the result of the hard work of all the people. I want to congratulate all the doctors, nurses, paramedic staff, officials, and whoever has worked hard to achieve this goal. The Burari Hospital will serve the people of the area in the coming days, and this hospital has started at the right time when we are battling Corona. I want to congratulate everyone, and I am happy that the additional 450 beds added today will be a huge help for the people of Delhi,” he added.
The Delhi government is setting up a 700-bedded hospital in Burari. One month back, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited the hospital to take stock of the arrangements. In view of COVID-19, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had instructed to expedite the construction work of the hospital. He said, “The Delhi government is setting up a new world-class hospital having 700 beds. We are currently installing 450 beds for the treatment of Corona patients in view of the prevailing situation. Oxygen facility has been installed on every third bed in this hospital. With this, oxygen will be supplied from the cylinder on 125 beds.”
